Leadership

Columbia College Chicago is one of the nation's foremost arts and media schools because of its history of strong and committed leadership.

Since 2000, Columbia's president has been Dr. Warrick L. Carter. He has reorganized the college's academic structure, directed the creation of a long-range strategic plan that calls for Columbia to be "the best student-centered arts and media college in the nation," increased the number of scholarships by 700, and superintended enrollment growth of more than 30 percent.

The college's Board of Trustees, under the chairmanship of Allen M. Turner, J.D., includes committed leaders in the arts and entertainment industries, corporate executives, and alumni.

Columbia's leadership in arts and media education today reflects the work of its dedicated faculty, administrative and management teams, but also a tradition of social consciousness and pragmatic innovation that comes from a history of enlightened leadership.
