The AEMM computer labs and recording studio feature technology that facilitates the analytical and creative work of our students. They have the freedom to experiment, train, get tutoring, and prepare for careers in their field of choice. |

Computer lab reservations can be made using
Columbia's R25 system.
AEMM program computing recommendations
for buying a new PC or Mac
Operating system
Windows 7 (Professional, Ultimate, or Home Premium) or newer; or Mac OS X 10.6 or newer.
Processor (CPU)
Dual-core processor or better.
Hard drive
320 gigabytes or larger.
Memory (RAM)
4 gigabytes of RAM or more.
Removable storage
- USB flash drive
- External Hard drive which meets or exceeds your hard drive capacity (for backups)
Software
- Required:
- Basic office suite (word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation) such as:
- Microsoft Office 2010 for PCs or Microsoft Office 2011 for Macs.
- Free tools, like OpenOffice, that are compatible with Microsoft Office file format.
- Tools to read and PDFs, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Basic office suite (word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation) such as:
Multimedia
Multimedia capable (sound, mic, webcam).
