Justin Sinkovich

Biography Justin Sinkovich grew up working in the music business with his parents in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. After earning his bachelor’s degree in business, he moved to Chicago where he worked in music distribution at Cargo Records and then became the US Label Manager of Southern Records. He later co-founded a Webby Award winning, Wired Reader’s Poll Nominated music start-up, Epitonic.com, which was acquired by Palm Pictures where he worked for several years under Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records. Justin reacquired Epitonic and relaunched it in 2011.
While earning his Masters of Arts Management at Columbia College, he co-founded another acclaimed music website, betterPropaganda.com. He also managed the creation and operations of the digital distribution and the online promotion division of Touch and Go Records while teaching at Columbia part-time. He became full-time faculty at Columbia College in 2009. Justin has continued to run a small independent label, File 13 Records; produced and performed music; released albums; and toured worldwide with the bands, The Poison Arrows, Atombombpocketknife, and Thumbnail. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Master in Arts Management with a concentration in Music Business from Columbia College Chicago
