BiographyPaulette Whitfield joined the AEMM Department in 2001, with expertise that spans several disciplines including marketing, market research, and copywriting. Ms. Whitfield teaches graduate and undergraduate marketing and research courses. She appreciates the advantage of exposing students to real-world marketing challenges. Client-based courses have provided students with the opportunity to work with arts partners that include Millennium Park, Lookingglass Theater, Chicago Children’s Theater and the Oak Park Advisory Commission.
Prior to joining the AEMM Department, Ms. Whitfield taught for over ten years in the Marketing Communication Department. As the Marketing Program Director, she taught the American Advertising Federation Practicum for several years, with Columbia College students winning their first regional competition. She also taught copywriting and research courses.
During her professional career as account executive and financial writer, Ms. Whitfield has launched integrated marketing and advertising campaigns for CNA Financial, Harris Bank and Kemper Insurance.
As a marketing consultant, Ms. Whitfield has conducted research for the Evangelical Health Systems, the Near South Planning Board and the Oak Park Arts Council. As a copywriter, Ms. Whitfield’s client base included Leo Burnett, the Family Counseling Service, Seaway National Bank and the CNA Insurance Company.
Ms. Whitfield has earned her Master’s Degree from Northwestern, Medill and has certification in research and statistical applications using SPSS software.
