China Marks
June 5 - 25, 2011
China Marks was at Anchor Graphics making a series of etchings and photopolymer intaglio prints riffing on her current body of work, which includes one-of-a-kind books and fabric drawings made through the use of cloth, thread, lace, screen-printing, and various other media. She combines figuration and text to create formal structures containing narratives that reflect our present circumstances and how we negotiate issues of power and transcendence. Artifacts of process, her works are objects as well as images, with a strong sculptural presence.
