Facilities

Anchor Graphics is one of the few professionally equipped printshops in Chicago that is available for personal use and individual instruction. Artists may rent shop time, take advantage of Open Studio sessions, work independently, or contract us to print editions. The shop consists of lithography and etching areas, an acid room, an archives room, an office and a storage room. The shop is equipped with the following:

40" x 70" American French Tool etching press

18" x 36" Takach etching press

32" x 60" Takach Garfield litho press

23" x 41" Charles Brand litho press

Litho stones of various sizes

Aquatint box that will coat a 12" x 12" etching plate

Vertical etching tank for 16" x 20" plates using Ferric Chloride solution (copper only)

Exposure unit with vacuum frame for photo-based print processes

Epson 7800 large format inkjet printer for making films

Copy machine

Mac and PC computers with scanners and laser printers

Assortment of inks, tarlatans, rollers, rags, ect.
