Assistant Professor, Art History
Annika Marie is a lecturer in Art History in the Department of Art + Design at Columbia College Chicago. She received her master’s degree in art history from Columbia University and finished her doctorate in art history at the University of Texas, Austin. She has curated, served as visiting critic, and written art criticism and essays for exhibition catalogues. In 1990, she was a Marie Walsh Sharpe Fine Arts Scholar and, in 2001, she was a Core Critical Studies fellow at the Core Program, Houston. Currently, she is working on a book, The Most Radical Act: Working Towards a Materialist Aesthetic in Harold Rosenberg, Barnett Newman and Ad Reinhardt.
