The Bachelor of Arts degree in Art + Design allows students to explore an alternative and/or broader approach to Art + Design Studies. Taking advantage of this curriculum allows students to cross disciplines and techniques from the entire department. This degree requires fewer credit hours than the BFA degrees and allows for a more tailored educational experience. Students may investigate a broader range of interests, or focus in one area at a slightly quicker pace. Bachelor of Arts graduates will be qualified for any number of careers within the fields of art and design and have the ability to pursue graduate study.

Art + Design offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees across the spectrum of arts and design disciplines, including Fine Arts, Product Design, Interior Architecture, Illustration, Graphic Design, and Advertising Art Direction. The BFA programs in Art + Design are intended to provide intensive training in the intellectual, technical, and physical skills necessary for arts and design professionals. The BFA is for students majoring in the above mentioned disciplines with definite career intentions.

MFA in Architectural Studies & Interior Architecture / Sustainable Design Columbia College Chicago’s MFA Programs in Architectural Studies and Interior Architecture aspire to educate tomorrow’s designers to understand the practice of sustainability and the belief that sustainability is paramount to the current and future practice of architecture and interiors. The MFA programs are strongly supported by the facilities and activities of the Art + Design Department. Graduates have access to our well-equipped computer labs, digital classrooms, fabrication shops, and knowledgeable staff. Further, graduating students participate in Manifest, the largest student art exhibition in the city, allowing them to exhibit their work to the community at large.
