Our Department maintains two Equipment Centers:
- The Department-wide Equipment Center houses our comprehensive studio microphone collection, "prime" and "vintage" outboard processing units, and portable/location recording kits for live recording and production class projects. We strive to build comprehensive collection of resources representative of equipment that are commonly found in most full-service recording facilities.
- The Acoustics Equipment Center, dedicated to our Acoustics program, includes a substantial inventory of Class I and II sound level meters, test microphones, noise dosimeters, a laboratory-grade taping machine, numerous test and reference loudspeakers, and a wide range of interface systems. Our engineering staff provides students with dedicated and custom-built test sets to support senior projects and undergraduate research work, as well as facilitates quick and efficient access to our inventory for time-sensitive, class related projects.
