Devon Polderman has been a football player and a florist, thrown engine blocks, built dune-retaining walls, harvested Christmas trees, crewed commercials and music videos, and survived an earthquake, a nor’easter, a tropical storm, Michigan, and a flash flood. He is eleven feet tall. He is the academic manager for the Fiction Writing Department at Columbia College Chicago and former executive director of the Schultz Group, Inc. and its not-for-profit sister, the Story Workshop Institute. His writing has been published in f Magazine, Hair Trigger, BlueLit, Criminal Class Press, and others. He has presented at national conferences for the Associated Writing Programs, National Council of Teachers of English, the Midwest Modern Language Association, and others. He lives in Berwyn with 18 plants, 43 fish, and his beautiful wife and daughters.
