Undergraduate Minor in Arts in Healthcare
Did you know...
- There is a national trend of implementing the arts into healthcare settings for therapeutic, educational, and recreational purposes?
- Ten of the 20 fastest growing occupations are healthcare related?
- Jobs in the healthcare industry are projected to grow 22.5% from 2008-2018?
In response to this trend, Columbia College Chicago is offering a new Arts in Healthcare Minor through the Department of Creative Arts Therapies (formerly the Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling Department). Students will be able to develop and implement arts based programming to positively impact the consumers, providers, and visitors of healthcare facilities and their surrounding environments. Students will be able to effectively communicate with providers to determine programming needs and how best to foster a sense of community healing and health through the creative process.
