HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION TO COLUMBIA COLLEGE
Columbia College maintains an open admissions policy, offering admission to all applicants with creative ability in or inclination to the arts and communications disciplines in which Columbia specializes and who possess a high school degree or equivalent.
In keeping with this policy, the Dance Department does not require auditions for acceptance into the Dance Program. The Dance Department does require that students complete a level-placement audition at Orientation or at the beginning of each term to determine what level technique class new students will begin their training at. A faculty panel will observe the level-placement audition and assess the student's technique level.
If you have decided to come to Columbia College to pursue a degree in Dance, your first step is to apply for admission to the College. Applicants will be required to submit the following to the Admissions Office:
New Freshmen:
* Application for Undergraduate Admission (including a personal essay)
* High School Transcripts (or evidence of earned GED)
* Letter of Recommendation
* Immunization Records
* $35 application fee
Transfer Students:
* Application for Undergraduate Admission (including a personal essay)
* High School Transcripts (or evidence of earned GED)
* Transcripts from the current or most recently-attended college(s)
* Letter of Recommendation
* Immunization Records
* $35 application fee
Materials should be sent to the Admissions Office, 600 S. Michigan, Chicago, Illinois 60605
* Do not forward admission materials to The Dance Center
