Orientation and Level Placement
All incoming students or current students who have not yet been placed in a technique level must attend one orientation and participate in the level placement audition.
To attend Orientation, you must reserve a spot in advance. Please RSVP directly with the Office of New Student programs.
What to expect
The level placement class will consist of short sections of improvisation, modern, African, and ballet. Students will also have the opportunity to show the skills they personally bring through a brief freestyle section. The entire placement class will take about 90 minutes.
ALL STUDENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO DANCE.
For the ballet class, students will need to wear a leotard, footless tights and ballet shoes (pointe shoes are not permitted). For the other portions of the class, bare feet are required.
Students who have completed the application process and signed up online should receive prior notification in the mail about this audition.
ALL STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP FOR AN ORIENTATION SESSION ONLINE
