STUDENT DANCE ORGANIZATION

MISSION STATEMENT
Student Dance Organization promotes the involvement of freshman through senior students alike and coordinates student activities within and throughout the Dance Center and the greater artistic environment in Chicago.  SDO is committed to building community by way of generating interaction, relationships and support between students, faculty, and professionals.  We believe that building a firm ground on which to stand will pave the way to greater interdisciplinary communication here at Columbia College Chicago and provide an active awareness of the community in which it thrives.

DANCE RESOURCE CENTER
The Dance Resource Center, located behind the reception desk on the first floor of The Dance Center, holds many educational tools for dancers, including books, periodicals, articles, brochure and videos about the world of dance. Many of the resources in this library were generously funded by the Student Government Association. Please see the receptionist for a complete list of materials and resources.

LOG ON TO ITUNES U

Go to: https://cast.colum.edu/cgi-bin/login.pl

Login with your OASIS login and password.
This will open iTunes (click on Trust or Okay)

In iTunes:
Scroll down to "Departments section."
Choose "Dance."
Click on the tab you wish and give it a moment as it opens.
To download:
Click on "Get" button to the far right.
Wait while it downloads.
Find your copy in your iTunes Library, in a folder named Columbia College Chicago.


Student Government Association

The Student Government Association strives to enhance the student experience at Columbia College Chicago by representing the student voice to faculty, staff, and administration to construct a more perfect union. Below is information about your student representatives and how to get involved.

Dance Senator: TBD

The Dance Senator is the representative for the student body within the Dance Dept. who serves as a communicator from faculty/staff in the dept. as well as school administrators to the students in the dept.  As an SGA departmental senator, a major objective is to better their designated dept. in relation to the rest of the departments at Columbia College Chicago. 

At-Large Senator: TBD
The At-Large Senator serves as a voice for the entire Columbia student body, as well as being accessible for students to contact over any questions or concerns involving Columbia and its campus.
