Our current Spring 2014 Series B-Real:A Look Inside Urban Movements is a convergence of local, national and international hip hop and house dance music workshops, performances and conversations February 17–March 1. Prompting this series of events are the overlapping Dance Center residencies by France’s Compagnie Käfig/CCN Créteil et du Val-de-Marne performing February 20–22 and Philadelphia hip-hop performer Raphael Xavier performing February 17–March 1.
B-Fresh Holistic Hip Hop Festival

B-fresh: Holistic Hip Hop Festival was a one-day celebration of peace, love, justice and having fun. Columbia College Chicago’s newly launched Creative Learning Hip Hop Hub within the School of Fine and Performing Arts convened this festival featuring multiple elements of Hip Hop.
It included everything from graffiti street mural art creation, an all-styles dance battle, a concert, workshops in yoga, hip hop therapy, breakin’, footwork, poppin', DJing, MCing, theater, street art to Community Arts Partnerships' visiting artist Viva La Soul Power: The Peoples Cook, a bike tour, farmer’s market and healthy food venders. Students and multi-generational crowds experienced live dancing, art, music, shopping, and interactive workshops all over the course of Friday Oct 18th, 2013.Check out this recap of the whole festival produced by Columbia College Chicago's Doc Unit:
