Teaching Artist Minor (18 credits)
The Teaching Artist minor is designed to introduce artists from all arts majors to the field of Teaching Artistry. This minor provides artists with the scaffolding necessary to work with children and adolescents in a multitude of ways. The minor allows students to further develop their craft while developing their knowledge of arts integration and its relationship to learning.
Students who earn this minor are prepared to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and arts specialists in public schools and museum settings, as well as in various after school, community-based, park district, and children’s theater programs.
