NAEA/IAEA Student Chapter at Columbia College Chicago

The purpose of the Columbia Chapter of the NAEA/IAEA is to allow art educators an opportunity to support and participate in the organization that will aide their professional growth, development, and enrichment as a teacher of the arts in the educational arena.

Mission Statement of the Columbia College Chapter of the NAEA/IAEA: The NAEA IAEA Columbia College student chapter’s mission statement parallels the goals of the educational studies department in the following ways: - Prepare new teachers and furthers the professional development of current teachers - Participate in and provide leadership in the improvement of education - Foster collaboration, critical thinking and reflection - Commitment to support and enrich the urban community with art experience GOALS; The goals of the Columbia Chapter of the NAEA/IAEA are the following: •to become an active group in the Columbia College community as professional educator advocates •to become active in the National and State organizations related to art educators •to promote the arts in the educational environments in and around the Chicago area. •to form a community within the Educational Studies Department that supports the arts and the development of the art educator candidates
