Kurt Kennedy
First Year Writing
Kurt Kennedy is currently working on an MFA in fiction writing at Columbia College. He received an MA in creative writing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006, where he taught English composition and technical writing since 2004. He is working on a novel about Abraham Lincoln's funeral train ride from Washington to Springfield, Illinois, as well as short stories set in his hometown of Kansas City, Kansas. When not focusing on writing and teaching, he enjoys playing ice hockey, going to baseball games, traveling, and reading for pleasure. He aspires to be a working writer and to teach creative writing.
