Maureen Ewing
First Year Writing
Maureen Ewing is in her final year of Columbia's MFA in Creative Writing-Poetry program. Maureen earned her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She taught high school English for four years, including two years at the University of Chicago Laboratory School. In 2003, she received her MA in English from Rhodes University, South Africa with her thesis "South African Women's Literature and the Ecofeminist Perspective."
Maureen's poetry appeared in Columbia's Spring 2008 exhibit "Trippin': Reflections and Revelations from Travel." Her work is forthcoming in Columbia’s Spring 2009 exhibit “Word 4: Type + Image” and Columbia Poetry Review.
Maureen teaches First Year Writing.
