Samuel Park

Samuel Park earned his B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University, and his Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Southern California. He teaches courses in theater and Asian American studies in the Literature program. His articles and reviews have appeared in Theater Journal, Shakespeare Bulletin, Black Camera, and the anthology Twentieth Century Representations of Beauty.

He is also the author of This Burns My Heart (Simon & Schuster), chosen as a Best Book of the Year by Kirkus Reviews, Amazon, NPR.org, and BookPage. It was an Indiebound Bestseller, a People magazine “Great Read,” A Today Show “Favorite Thing” and a Target Emerging Author Pick. Foreign editions include Germany, Norway, China, and South Korea. He is also the author of Shakespeare’s Sonnets (Alyson Books), adapted into a short film that he wrote and directed.
