First-Year Writing Anthology

Welcome to Columbia College's First-Year Writing Anthology, a collection of essays created by students in composition courses at Columbia College. This year's anthology features a variety of essays selected to showcase work that exemplifies the concepts first-year writing students learn during the college's two-course writing sequence.

Submissions are now being accepted for Volume 3.

Please see the Submissions page for further details.

Volume 2

Included in Volume 2 of the anthology is a selection of ten essays from Writing and Rhetoric I and Writing and Rhetoric II. One essay from each course received an Editors' Choice Award of $100, and the additional essays were chosen for publication in the anthology.
