SIELI Housing information

Applications for the Summer Intensive English Language Institute must be received by May 1, 2008. If you need to obtain or transfer a student visa (I-20), you should complete your application no later than April 1, 2008. If you receive this program information after the deadline,space may be available. Please contact Suzanne Blum Malley (or 312-369-8111) for late application and program availability.

All students planning to participate in the SIELI must complete a SIELI application separate from any other application to Columbia College Chicago.

If you plan to only attend Columbia for the 8-week SIELI session, you need to complete the SIELI application.
If you have been accepted to Columbia College Chicago as an undergraduate student in the Fall 2008, and are participating in the SIELI during the Summer 08 session, you must complete the SIELI application in addition to your other Columbia application.
If you plan to live in campus housing at the University Center Chicago, email esl@colum.edu to request a student housing application.
If you plan to attend Columbia College Chicago as an undergraduate student in the Fall 2008 but have not yet applied, you must complete a full application and receive acceptance from the College. This is separate from the SIELI application. Please contact Gigi Posejpal (312-369-7458) and visit our Columbia International Undergraduate Admissions site for more information.

Payment in full of SIELI program fees is expected when you receive your letter of admission to the SIELI Program.

Request a printable application:
Request a printable application by e-mail to esl@colum.edu. You will receive an e-mail with an attached PDF file of the application. This will allow you to print, complete, and mail or fax the application. To access the file, you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Please note that if you need an I-20 form, you should apply as early as possible to SIELI so that your student visa paperwork can be processed.

Don't forget about housing!
Learn more about living in The University Center Chicago. If you plan to live on campus, request a SIELI Housing application from esl@colum.edu. We expect and encourage SIELI students to live on campus, but we will make exceptions for students with other housing arrangments.
