First-Year Writing Anthology

Welcome to Columbia College's First-Year Writing Anthology, a collection of essays created by students in composition courses at Columbia College. This inaugural issue is organized around responses to the Critical Encounters theme for the 2010-2011 school year, "Image and Implication."

Included in this anthology is a selection of 12 essays from three writing courses at Columbia: Introduction to College Writing, Writing and Rhetoric I, and Writing and Rhetoric II. One essay from each course received an Editors' Choice Award of $100, and the additional essays were chosen for publication in the anthology.
