Richard Meier

Richard Meier has published two books of poetry. Shelley Gave Jane a Guitar (Wave 2006) and Terrain Vague (Verse Press/Wave Books, 2001), which was selected by Tomaz Salamun for the Verse Prize. His poems have appeared in Conjunctions, Volt, Boston Review, Lungfull, and other leading literary journals and magazines. He has taught at numerous colleges and universities and most extensively as a teaching artist, teaching poetry writing to public school students with Teachers and Writers Collaborative in New York City, the Poetry Center’s Hands On Stanzas Program in Chicago, Gateway to the Arts in Pittsburgh, and other organizations.

Danielle Pafunda

Danielle Pafunda is the author of two poetry collections: My Zorba forthcoming from Bloof Books in 2008 and Pretty Young Thing (Soft Skull Press), and the forthcoming chapbook A Primer for Cyborgs: The Corpse(Whole Coconut).  Her third manuscript Iatrogenic: Their Testimonies was a recent finalist for the Ahsahta Press Sawtooth Poetry Prize.  She has been anthologized in Best American Poetry 2004, 2006, and 2007 editions, as well as in Not For Mothers Only: Contemporary Poets on Child-getting and Child-rearing (Fence Books, 2007) and Efforts and Affections, a book of essays on women poets and mentorship forthcoming from University of Iowa press.  Poetry, reviews, and essays appear in such publications as Action Yes, Conjunctions, TriQuarterly, and the Georgia Review.

Danielle received a BA from Bard College, MFA in Poetry from New School University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the University of Georgia Creative Writing Program.  She is co-editor of the longstanding online literary journal La Petite Zine, and a contributing curator at the new Delirious Hem. Her teaching and scholarly interests include 20th century American poetry, experimental poetry, gender theory, cultural and biocultural studies.  Updates and information can be found at her Iron Caisson blog.
