Arnab received his bachelors degree in Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) from National Institute of Fashion Technology, India, and graduate degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design from the University of Rhode Island. Arnab has worked in several aspects of the fashion industry. His experience encompasses working in cotton spinning mills, fabric mills, garment manufacturing & finishing units, distribution & logistics centers , product development, fashion marketing, and public relations in India, and the United States. While he worked for Trends division of Reliance Industries limited (India's largest corporation) he conducted size standardization research project, helped launch two private labels, three flagship stores, and three seasonal campaigns for the retailer. Prior to Columbia College Chicago, Arnab was a full time faculty teaching fashion merchandising, and textile courses at Pittsburg State University and also has worked with Fashion and PR company, StyleWeek LLC as PR Associate. At Columbia, Arnab instructs courses relating to fashion business. His research interests lies in the construct of identities, and buying behavior. He is currently working on a research on LGBT consumers and impulse buying.
