DMT&C Clinical Placements

DMT&C Clinical Placements

Fieldwork, Internship I & II

All students are required to complete one (1) clinical fieldwork placement followed by one (1) internship divided into two (2) semesters for a minimum of six (6) months to earn their Master of Arts degree.  [A student may be held back from Internship at the discretion of DMT faculty if there are concerns during Field Placement, see Student Focus Form and Criteria for Discontinuance].

Information describing placement sites is kept on file for students to explore prospective sites.  A Clinical Coordinator is available to advise students in their choices.  It is often suggested that students choose Internship sites that serve their thesis interest and meet research requirements.  Selecting sites serving different developmental populations, diverse pathologies, and various clinical settings is required between Fieldwork and Internship.

The Clinical Coordinator will set up appointments with students early in the semester prior to their placement to discuss their interest.  The student then sets up his/her own interviews (s) with the prospective Site Supervisor to determine placement acceptance.

Site Supervisors must have a minimum of a Master of Arts degree in a related clinical field if they are not an ADTR (ACADEMY OF DANCE THERAPISTS REGISTERED).
