Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB)

The Graduate Student Advisory (GSAB) Board is a group of 12 to 15 Columbia College Chicago Graduate Students from various departments who work with the Graduate Office in the following ways:

  • Serve as a student advisory board for the Director of Graduate Admissions and the Dean of Graduate Administration and Student Services.
  • Function as an important resource for other current students who have ideas, concerns, questions or issues.
  • Focus on graduate student services by keeping graduate students informed of events, job positions, etc., through special flyers, emails, the Graduate Office website, as well as the GSAB Bulletin Board (located outside the Graduate Office.)
  • Offer opportunities for social and professional networking.  Each semester GSAB coordinates the graduate student social as well as the annual Graduate Commencement Reception in May.
  • Serve as the student ambassadors for the Graduate Office, especially Graduate Admissions.  GSAB assists with open houses, college fairs, and orientations.
GSAB members are selected each fall by the Graduate Office in consultation with departments.  GSAB members must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours) in a graduate program.
