Checklist: Interdisciplinary Arts
When applying to one of our Interdisciplinary Arts graduate programs you will need to submit the following:
> VIDEO: .mov, .wmv, .flv — 60 MB per file maximum
> MUSIC: .mp3 - 10 MB per file maximum
> WRITTEN DOCS: .pdf — 10 MB per file maximum

Please remember: Geographic circumstances permitting, an interview may be required during the admission process. If an interview is required, the department will contact the student directly. The applicant may present a portfolio during the interview (in addition to the work sample).
Students entering the program should have an undergraduate degree in one of the arts or in arts education.
If you are an international student you will need to submit all of the above materials as well as the additional International Application Materials.
- Online application, with application fee.
- Self-Assessment essay: Within your self-assessment essay, include specific mention of your professional goals (arts administration, the book and paper arts, performance, personal development, or the incorporation of media into your own art form - be specific).
- Two letters of recommendation
- Resume
- An official transcript from any and all colleges/universities attended
- Work sample:
> MA in Interdisciplinary Arts Please submit a work sample representative of your expertise in the arts or arts education. (Please do NOT submit computer files of commercial work). This might include images, video, music or written documents.
> MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts & Media: Please submit images of your artwork that best represents your interests, accomplishments and abilities. In addition to works in media arts, we are interested in a wide range of approaches to artistic practice, including performance, DIY/DIT endeavors, Art/Science collaborations as well as multi-disciplinary and community-situated work. We are interested in learning about your practice as an artist, so your work samples should focus on presenting your practice. This might include images, video, music or written documents. Please do not submit examples of commercial work.
> MFA in Book & Paper Arts: Please submit images of your artwork that best represents your interests, accomplishments and abilities. In addition to works in the book and paper arts, we are interested in a wide range of approaches to artistic practice, including collaborative work, multi-disciplinary work and community-based work. We are interested in learning about your practice as an artist, so your work samples should focus on presenting your practice. Please do not submit samples of commercials work. This might include images, video, music or written documents.
