Kimberly McCarthy
Kimberly McCarthy, PhD, is Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Humanities,
History, and Social Sciences at Columbia College Chicago.
Dr. McCarthy
received her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Oregon. She
also holds an MM in Music Composition from the University of Oregon; a BM in
Music Composition from the University of the Pacific; a Certificate in
Deep Listening from the Deep Listening
Institute; and Certificate in
Women's Studies from the University of Oregon, Eugene.
Dr. McCarthy is a
psychologist and music scholar in the fields Creativity Studies,
Interdisciplinary Studies, Research and Measurement, Theoretical Analysis,
Women's Studies, and Deep Listening Music Improvisation. Her research
and teaching areas include creativity studies, community psychology, social
change through the arts, creativity in high-risk, uncertain environments, and
community development through theater.
