At the invitation of Jiujiang University in Jiujiang China, Rose Camastro-Pritchett, Columbia College Chicago MFA alumni and adjunct instructor was invited to set up a papermaking studio on the veranda of her apartment to teach 18 art majors papermaking and book arts. They came from small farms, villages, and large cities to attend the University of 40,000 near the Yangzi River and Lushan Mountain.

The students, expert draftsmen schooled in traditional painting, took on the challenge of paper arts as well as conceptual art. Their exhibition drew an audience of 350 students and faculty and garnered praise from Doctor Wu, Dean of the School of Art, for their use of ideas as the impetus for their work.
