Ryan Helding
I am a senior at Columbia College Chicago majoring in film production with a concentration in cinematography. In my last semester at Columbia, I wanted to apply for cinematography techniques into broadcast journalism, and illustrate how news and sports packages could be equally visual and emotive as it is articulate and informative. I began my film career in my home state of Arizona, before moving to the freezing cold of Chicago. In Arizona, I went to Scottsdale Community College and worked on several films, including a local feature, Moonpie. I transferred to Columbia my junior year and was fortunate enough to jump right into the cinematography program. I recently found an interest in broadcasting, and hope to find an opportunity in photojournalism where I can use my cinematography skills and camera knowledge. |
