John Fischetti Editorial Cartoon Competition 2011
Grand Prize: $3000
Winner receives an expenses-paid trip to Chicago in April to be honored at the annual celebration of editorial cartooning
Eligibility
Any staff, syndicated or regularly published professional cartoonist.
Entries
Any cartoon, single panel or multiple, commenting on current social, cultural, and political subjects (including sports and entertainment). To be eligible, the work must have been published Jan. 1, 2010 - Dec. 31, 2010 in a daily or weekly newspaper or regularly published periodical (including Internet publications) in the United States.
Entries must be accompanied by a $50 entry fee, paid via check or credit card.
Checks should be payable to Columbia College Chicago. Please reference Fischetti Editorial Cartoon Competition on the memo line.
Payments made by credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard & Discover) should be phoned in to: 312-369-8900. Please indicate your payment method when submitting electronically.
Rules
- An individual may submit up to three cartoons published during 2010. All entries must be submitted together. The $50 fee covers all three entries.
- Entries must be postmarked or submitted electronically by Jan. 31, 2011.
- Date and place of first publication should accompany all submitted cartoons.
- Original drawings must be available for submitted cartoons to qualify.
Entry Information
All entries become property of the Fischetti competition committee of Columbia College Chicago. Grand prize winner will be required to contribute the original of their entry for auction to benefit scholarships through the John Fischetti endowment. Submission of an entry gives Columbia College permission to reproduce a cartoon in connection with the contest or Fischetti endowment publicity.
