Convergence Newsroom
Located in the center of the new Journalism Department suite on the second floor of the 33 East Congress Building, the Digital Convergence Newsroom merges decades-old journalism practices with start-of-the-art technology.
Here, students from across the spectrum of the Journalism Department’s concentrations learn how to adapt their writing and reporting skills to the latest media platforms.
In its inaugural semester, students utilized the Digital Convergence Newsroom for a range of endeavors - from editing online news packages to interviewing news makers such as U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and Chicago Sun-Times columnist Richard Roeper in front of live audiences.
