Writing Center
The mission of the Columbia College Chicago Writing Center is to provide a comfortable and supportive environment in which writers work closely with writing consultants to develop and strengthen writing skills. The Center hosts a collaborative effort to improve communication skills and empower all writers. The Center is open to members of the Columbia College Chicago community who wish to enrich language skills and become more confident writers.
Students work with consultants on a variety of writing projects:
- Resumes, cover letters, and scholarship essays
- Coming up with ideas for writing projects (brainstorming)
- Making sure the paper makes sense (structure and flow)
- Editing for grammar and punctuation
- Learning how to use research in writing
- Learning how to properly document (in text citation and bibliography)
- Opt for a live chat through Skype or opt to submit papers through e-mail. Both kinds of sessions can be scheduled through Oasis.
