Kevin Christophersen, MA, is the Associate Chair for the Marketing Communication Department at Columbia College Chicago. He manages 45+ adjunct faculty, hires new faculty, supervises the teaching evaluation process, and develops the semester schedule that includes over 120 course sections. Kevin spearheads operational efficiencies for the department with an enrollment of approximately 600+ advertising, marketing and public relations undergraduate students.
Kevin joined the Columbia College adjunct faculty in 1999 and in 2001, accepted a full-time Assistant Professor position. In 2007, he was granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor. Kevin has a passion for fostering an innovative teaching and learning environment and has a vision for students that looks far beyond their education.
Prior to joining Columbia, he worked in Media Activation at Leo Burnett and held Account Management positions at various agencies. Clients included: Abbott Labs, Allstate, Boise Cascade, Keebler, Kellogg, McDonald’s, Oldsmobile, Philip Morris, & Procter and Gamble among others.
Kevin has been published in numerous journals and traveled internationally to address various topics including: male body image concerns, service learning, and creating safe classrooms for LGBTQ students. He is currently examining gay male ageism and the motivational drivers, including social media, associated with body image perception.
Kevin has an entrepreneurial spirit and is developing an upstart web-based company, VidHire.com. VidHire is a fully automated video interviewing solution that provides human resource recruiters and hiring managers a cost effective way to hire top talent.
