Public Relations Concentration

What Are the Requirements for the Public Relations Concentration?

Our Public Relations Concentration helps you develop theoretical and practical appreciation for communication strategies aimed at shaping the public perceptions and attitudes towards an issue, organization, institution, product, and/or  service. Using a real world approach, you will be taught how to analyze public relations problems and then formulate and implement viable strategies for problem resolutions. You are also taught to write effectively for all media, deploy diverse resources and tools in fulfillment of public relations goals. The subject of ethics and its implications for the PR functions are interwoven throughout the curriculum.

9 CREDIT HOURS - Marketing Communication majors with a concentration in Public Relations are required to complete 9 credit hours of electives in the Agency/Corporate, Public Policy/Nonprofit, or Sports Marketing Focus Areas. Select a minimum of three courses from the three focus areas below.
