Carol LoVerde
Associate Professor of Music Carol Lo Verde, voice faculty member at Columbia College Chicago, holds a BA in music with departmental honors from Mundelein College, and pursued voice studies at the University of Indiana, Bloomington upon graduation. She teaches Techniques in Singing courses as well as private lessons in classical and musical theater vocal technique and style.Ms. Lo Verde is a specialist in chamber music of many genres and has been heard on radio nationwide. As soprano soloist she has sung with the Chicago Symphony, the English Bach Festival Baroque Orchestra, Chamber Opera Chicago, The Harwood Early Music Ensemble, Ars Musica Chicago and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble. Her recordings include the world premier of the opera based on the the Ray Bradbury short story The Lifework of Juan Diaz by Lawrence Rapchak; Duke Ellington’s Transblucency with the Chicago Jazz Ensemble under the direction of William Russo; Renaissance music with Chicagoacappella; J.S. Bach's The Passion According to St. John with the Smithsonian Chamber Players; and French and Italian Art Songs with internationally acclaimed pianist John Wustman. She is a featured soloist in The Music of Father and Son, a recording of the music of Alexander and Ivan Tcherepnin.
