Are any practice rooms available and how can I reserve one?

Students currently registered in a music course can check availability and reserve practice rooms online using their OASIS account. For instructions and more information, see the Practice Rooms web page.

I made a reservation for a practice room, but someone else is still using it. What can I do?

First, log on to Oasis and verify your reservation to make sure you have the right room and time. After determining that someone is using a room at a time you reserved, politely explain the situation to the person in the room. If necessary, the 3rd floor receptionist or the 4th floor cage staff will assist you with checking your reservation and resolving any potential disputes.

How do I make an appointment with my faculty advisor or course instructor?

You can make appointments for faculty advising or course assistance with full-time faculty members through the 'Make Appointments' tab in Oasis. Use the drop-down menus to choose the service you need and from whom you need it in order to generate a weekly schedule with available time slots. Full-time faculty offices and contact information are listed in the online Directory. Adjunct faculty do not have private offices on campus. However, you may contact them via the email provided in the online Directory. For assistance with contacting a faculty member not listed online, please speak with the 3rd floor receptionist or the 4th floor cage staff. You may contact the Music department at 312.369.6300 for assistance, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Where can I print/copy something for a class?

Copies for personal use must be made at either the Library, 624 S. Michigan, or the Xerox Document Center, 619 S. Wabash, 1st Floor, and paid for with cash or campus card. See Printing on Campus for details.   Printer/copiers at the Music Computer are for faculty/staff use only.

How do I get my posters/flyers approved and posted at the Music Center?

To submit a poster for review for distribution throughout the Music Center, please follow the procedures and guidelines outlined on the Poster & Flyer Policy.

I need to leave something for an instructor. Can I put something in his/her mailbox?

If the instructor is unavailable, leave the assignment or other document with the 3rd floor receptionist, who will issue you a Student Receipt to provide proof, if necessary, that the assignment was submitted. The receptionist will deliver the assignment or other document to your instructor’s on-campus mailbox.
