Mary Blinn is a Chicago-area artist and writer, providing administrative support for the Music Department’s Chair, which includes student recruitment and administration of the Music Department Scholarship.
Her thirty-plus years as a professional artist include illustration; ad design and production; publication design and production; and animation/special effects design and production for clients such as Sunkist, Coors, and MacDonald’s. Her Celtic watercolor-on-wood paintings, Erinwood, have been displayed in the Illinois Artisans Shops and at the Chicago History Museum.
Blinn co-wrote and co-produced an album of children’s songs, A Handful of Sunshine, with her husband, Bob. Her poetry has won international, state and citywide recognition, and is consistently published in After Hours: A Journal of Chicago Writing and Art. Her DVD of video poetry, Love Me, Wash Me, earned a screening in Vancouver’s Evening of Visible Verse. She has presented her poetry at numerous Chicago venues, including featured readings at the annual Printer’s Row Lit Fair from 2001 through 2010. She is currently co-writing a guide for young artists on how to get work in a creative industry.
