Courses

Classes are rooted in nineteenth-century photography history and processes, and extend to encompass a broad array of digital imaging courses at the cutting edge of contemporary technology. Foundation courses acquaint students with the visual grammar of photography technique, theory, and criticism in both black-and-white and color, in darkroom and critique settings. Advanced courses deal with experimental processes, historical and critical analysis, aesthetics, digital imaging technology, documentary, photojournalism, studio photography and professional practice. Students can earn a B.F.A or a B.A. or minor in the discipline.
