ABOUT ART: Photographs by Jason Lazarus and Brian Ulrich
The current exhibition at the City Gallery will be photographs from the Wright Auction House Commission taken by Jason Lazarus and Brian Ulrich.
The City Gallery is in the Historic Water Tower at 806 N. Michigan Avenue, and is a joint project of the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Photography Department of Columbia College.
The exhibition will open with a Reception the evening of May 15th, 2008 (5-7pm).
The show is running from May 16- August 3, 2008.
The gallery is open 7 days a week.

Michigan Ave. Building Show Off to Taylor Castle: March 11th Taylor Castle is a Chicago based photographer whose work focuses on advertising and conceptual imagery. Taylor will meet with photography students on Wednesday, March 11th from 10am to Noon and give advice on developing portfolios. Show Off to James Imbrogno: March 11th Photography students have the opportunity to meet with James Imbrogno on Wednesday, March 11th between 1Pm and 3PM and receive feedback on their portfolios. James is a dynamic still life, tabletop and food photographer. Show Off to Callie Lipkin: March 11th On Wednesday, March 11 from 5PM to 8PM, photographer Callie Lipkin will review student portfolios and provide feedback on their body of work. Callie's work synthesizes documentary and studio photography genres. Her clients include Cosmopolitan, Microsoft and Upshot. Interested students should call 312-344-7280 to sign-up, show and SHOW OFF. Columbia College juniors, seniors, grad students and December '07 graduates are eligible to participate. SHOW OFF is a program that brings artists, professionals and students together for 20-minute one-on-one portfolio reviews and advising. One part mentorship, one part talent search, Show Off is primary vehicle the Portfolio Center uses to get seniors, grad students and recent graduates in front of people in their field- and the way many students have found full-time, freelance and intern positions. |
