Internships in Photography provide advanced level students with an opportunity to gain professional experience and create a network in an area of concentration or interest while receiving credit towards their degree. To qualify for an internship, students must be at least a junior (60 credit hours completed) and have a GPA of 3.0.
Permission of the Internship Coordinator and participation in a portfolio review is required before a student can apply for an internship. Students work with the Internship Coordinator to design and implement their internship. Students who seek an internship without approval from the Internship Coordinator risk denial of credit.
Photography students may earn up to 3 credit hours of internship credit toward their degree. These credits will count as Photography Electives.
To apply for an internship, all interested students must make an appointment with John Morrison, the Photography Internship Coordinator, several weeks prior to registration. Students can make appointments with John through Oasis under the Make Appointments tab.
Students can also log-in to ColumbiaWorks to search for available internships, and connect with the Portfolio Center for assistance with your portfolio and resume.

Current students can make an appointment with the Internship Coordinator by going to the “Make Appointments” tab in Oasis, selecting “Department Appointments”, selecting “Photography Department”, and choosing “Internships” from the drop down menu.
