Keri Walters

Keru Walters Keri Walters, Assistant Dean for Faculty Advising. Keri began her professional career in higher education at Loyola University Chicago, where she worked in Residence Life for two years. In 1997, she joined the Columbia College Chicago staff as Academic Program Coordinator in The Dance Center. She subsequently held positions at Columbia in the Career Center for Arts and Media and the College Advising Center before assuming her present post in the School of Fine and Performing Arts. As an adjunct professor, Keri also taught Senior Seminar and First Year Seminar. She has presented programs at both NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) and ILAAA (Illinois Academic Advising Association) conferences. She holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership with a focus in College Student Development from Miami University (Ohio), and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Music Theory from Ashland University (Ohio). Keri enjoys performing and creating sound design for various Chicago theater companies. She is passionate about the mission of Columbia and the positive impact that high quality advising programs have on students’ lives.
