Melissa McCallum

Mellissa McCallum Melissa McCallum, Director of Academic and Curriculum Support. Melissa earned her BA in Early Childhood Education and Human Development from National-Louis University and received her certification as a Paralegal from the College of Lake County.  Melissa joined the Dean’s Office in 2008 where she serves as the curricular and academic support liaison between SFPA academic departments and outside offices at the college.

Prior to her arrival at Columbia, Melissa owned and operated an arts management agency, specializing in the representation, promotion, and marketing of commercial photographers and illustrators to national advertising agencies and direct clients. As an agent, she frequently participated in student portfolio reviews conducted by Columbia’s Photography Department. She has had extensive experience in advertising and public relations where she worked as a producer, project manager, and coordinator. She has been a sales manager for a national book and music corporation where she managed full- and part-time staff, executed merchandising display, and coordinated special events, promotions and signings for national, bestselling authors. She has also been a pre-school level teacher.
