School of Liberal Arts & Sciences
The liberal arts and sciences are integral to the well-rounded education you expect from Columbia College Chicago. LAS subjects and programs inspire, provide contexts, literacies, and histories. What’s more, they teach the impact of scientific reasoning on our lives, enhance your ability to think critically, and help you communicate analytical perspectives. In fact, once you graduate, a major, minor, or firm grounding in the liberal arts will make you even more marketable than you might be otherwise.
The School of Liberal Arts & Sciences offers majors and concentrations in several degree programs leading to Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Master of Arts in Teaching, and Master of Fine Arts degrees; teacher certification programs in both early childhood education and primary and secondary education, including bilingual and art education programs; minors and certificates in many programs, as well as in several interdisciplinary programs; faculty who are nationally known scholars and award-winning teachers; study abroad programs and off-campus practicum opportunities; and so much more!
