The Edward and Marsha Morris Scholarship

The Edward L. and Marsha E. Morris Scholarship was established to assist outstanding junior and senior level television students at Columbia College Chicago to defray tuition costs as they near completion of their undergraduate degrees. The scholarship is awarded annually to one student who, by recommendation of the Columbia College Chicago television faculty, has demonstrated considerable achievement in the media and has significant potential for future creative development in the television arts. Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement and financial need.

Maximum Award Amount: $2000 (awarded Spring Semester)

Thaine Lyman Scholarship

The Thaine Lyman Scholarship was established to recognize Television students' achievement and to assist Television students in paying tuition and fee expenses. The scholarship is awarded annually to one student by recommendation of the Columbia College Television Department Scholarship Committee. The scholarship winner is announced in the Spring of each academic year.

Maximum Award Amount: $1000 (awarded Fall Semester)

Al Lira Scholarship

Awards based on merit and financial need for full-time junior level status Television majors with GPA 3.0, who has completed a minimum of 24 credit hours from the Television Department basic core requirements.

Maximum Award Amount: $3000 (awarded Fall Semester)

The Irv Kupcinet

The Irv Kupcinet Media Arts Scholarship was established by the many friends of Irv Kupcinet, legendary Chicago columnist, award-winning journalist and nationally recognized humanitarian, to recognize the accomplishments of full-time students majoring in journalism, radio or television at Columbia College Chicago, and to help defray the cost of tuition and fee expenses. The scholarship is awarded annually to one student from each area of study by the Columbia College Chicago Irv Kupcinet Scholarship Committee. The scholarship winners are announced in the Spring of each academic year. The award recipient will receive a maximum amount of $2,500: $1,250 to be awarded in the Fall semester and $1,250 to be awarded in the Spring semester. Scholarship awards are based on an evaluation of the student’s accomplishments in his or her major field, academic achievement and financial need.

Production Assistance Fund (PAF)

The Production Assistance Fund (PAF) was established to assist advanced Television Department students who are working on independent projects in conjunction with their studies in Television at Columbia College. The purpose of the assistance is to encourage excellence and innovation and to offer financial assistance to projects that show potential.

Sharon A. Palermo Scholarship

This scholarship has been established by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) to encourage talented students committed to careers in the television industry. Applicants must have attained senior level status in a bachelor’s degree program OR be enrolled in a graduate degree program.
