Overview
The Theatre Department is the largest undergraduate department of its kind in the nation, offering a comprehensive education in the theory and practice of contemporary Western theatre and performance. Located in the heart of Chicago, with over 200 producing theaters, the department provides the ideal environment for you to develop your artistic talents and apply them in production. We currently offer three different degree programs designed to suit your level of interest in theatre and performance including a collaborative Playwriting program. In consultation with your academic advisor, you are encouraged to carefully consider your interests, abilities and goals when determining which degree track to pursue.
