Career Initiatives Career Initiatives helps students connect with job leads, prepare for the job search, and build a portfolio. Services include:
ColumbiaWorks, the college’s online job board that lists on-campus opportunities, internships, part-time and full-time work and freelance gigs. ColumbiaWorks is coordinated by Student Employment, and this office also hosts job fairs several times a year.
Portfolio Center provides information on body of work and portfolio best practices. Production services help with building and packaging portfolios books, reels and websites. Once your portfolio is underway, opportunities are provided to present your work samples and to network with industry professionals.
A Career Development Specialist is available for individual support related to strategic career planning, resume building, interviewing, and for information about other career resources on campus.
Writing Center provides consultants to work with students on a variety of writing projects including resumes, cover letters, and scholarship essays. Sample resumes are available for perusal.
