Dawn Renee Jones's career has led her to write, direct and produce for a broad range of media, clients and communication objectives. She has written and produced print and broadcast advertising for a host of national advertisers including Kentucky Fried Chicken, Gibson Guitars, Union Carbide, Virginia Slims and ABC-TV in Chicago and New York. Her theater directing credits include 35 main stage productions at Actors' Theatre of St. Paul, Mixed Blood, Penumbra, At the Foot of the Mountain, Women's Theatre Project and Starting Gate theatres in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Dawn Renee was the founder and artistic director of Alchemy Theater, a community-based professional theatre that was a catalyst for community revitalization in Minneapolis. Alchemy Theater's technical theatre program trained 50 inner city teens to design, build and operate professional theater productions.
Dawn Renee was Director of Publications for Arts Midwest for six years before launching the Midwest Jazz Society, a regional jazz initiative that served nine Midwestern states. As the director of the Midwest Jazz Society Dawn Renee produced the Midwest Jazz Masters Awards, recordings and tours, and published Midwest Jazz magazine. Before joining Columbia College Chicago's Theatre Department as the Department Chair's Assistant in 2010, she was the Director of Special Events for the Minnesota AIDS Project, where she produced the Minnesota AIDS Walk and Oscar Night America.
