OUR VISION
The Office of Academic Affairs is a robust hive of activity where we cultivate ideas, solve problems, and create opportunities for learning at Columbia College Chicago.

OUR VALUES
Integrity is a cornerstone of our work; we strive to put our values into action. Above all else the Office of Academic Affairs values learning and the processes that make learning possible. Therefore, we value:

REFLECTION:
We learn from our successes, near-misses and failures. We do better each time.

INNOVATION:
We go beyond the day-to-day, exploring new ideas and trying new things. We are trail blazers.

COLLABORATION:
We know that by engaging with others we produce results that surpass what we can accomplish in isolation. We work and play well with others.

VISIBILITY:
We are transparent in our decision-making processes. We have nothing to hide.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The Office of Academic Affairs at Columbia College Chicago recognizes that individual and collective contributions to our mission can and should extend beyond the boundaries created by work designations within a single area or unit. Organizing work groups around projects with staff from various areas provides increased opportunity for:
  • A fuller use of capacity - time, talents and skills
  • Reduced redundancies across units
  • More partnering with all campus constituencies
  • Deeper understanding of the role of Academic Affairs
  • Professional development
  • Leadership development
  • Cross-training
